Las últimas guitarras que John Denver utilizó fueron las Taylor. De excelente calidad, las Taylor llevan en el mercado unos 30 años y muchos artistas las han adquirido por su extraordinario sonido.

Me puse en contacto con Taylor Guitars para que me dieran información sobre los modelos que utilizó John Denver y, aunque no era lo que yo pretendía (solicité hablar con la persona que trató directamente con John para que me diera muchos más detalles) han sido muy amables con su respuesta. In the second picture from the top, the 12-string is the 855. In the bottom picture, John is playing his K15. The guitar in the top picture is hard to identify, it may be a very early Taylor, or it may be another guitar with similar features. Do you have another shot of John playing that guitar? If I could see the headstock, I could verify whether it was a Taylor and possibly tell you the model.I can't send you images of all John Denver's guitars, but I have this image of the JDCM (John Denver Commemorative Model) that Taylor released in 2003. In 1994, John Denver bought two limited-edition Taylor bird’s-eye maple 915-Ms (Limiteds). Eventually, Denver replaced all his guitars with a collection of Taylors, including a K15, a K22, a 1995 LTD GABE, an 855, a 955c and several Babys.

Because of his association with Taylor Guitars, and especially since his tragic death in October 1997, many people asked if Taylor was going to create a model to commemorate Denver’s life and music. It took a little while to happen, but in 2003, Taylor released the John Denver Commemorative Model, a Grand Concert boasting koa on the back, sides, and top, and flamed maple for the soundhole rosette.

The fretboard inlay on the JDCM used koa, maple, walnut, and yellow heart to depict the heroic-scale statue of Denver that stands on the grounds of the Windstar Land Conservancy, in Snowmass, Colorado. A percentage of the profits from the sale of each JDCM went to the Windstar Foundation, a non-profit environmental education organization that Denver co-founded in 1976, with Aikido Master, Tom Crum.

Dos guitarras Yamaha L-53 (Ver carátula de"John Denver and The Muppets - A Christmas Together") diseñana por Terrumi Nakamoto y fabricada en 1978 por Toshihiko Iyo (Jefe de la sección de encargos y Maestro Constructor en la tradición española) y su equipo para el cantante y compositor ecologista, John Denver.

Ambos ofrecieron un diseño basado en el dreadnought con un fondo redondeado muy peculiar, una tapa de Abeto de Sitka envejecida, una parte posterior y lados de Palisandro Brasileño, y unas complicadas incrustaciones.

Dentro de la boca de la guitarra había un pedazo de cuero en el que se leía “YAMAHA 1978-4 Para el uso de John Denver. L-53 diseñada por Terrumi Nakamoto.”

2 Yamaha L-53 guitars (see “John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together” cover), designed by Terrumi Nakamoto and built in 1978 by Toshihiko Ito (Yamaha Chief of the Custom Shop and Master Builder in the Spanish tradition) and his team for the late singer/songwriter and environmentalist John Denver. Both featured an x-braced dreadnought design with a distinctive rounded bottom, aged Sitka Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and intricate inlay.

Inside the sound hole of the guitar there was a piece of leather that read: “YAMAHA 1978-4 For John Denver Custom L-53 design by Terrumi Nakamoto.”

Jeff: I own only one of John Denver's guitars: it is an Adamas Ultra 12 string, used by John in the mid 1980's. I have enclosed a photo for you as an attachment. My friend Pete owns two other of John Denver's guitars: a Yamaha and a John Greven. The picture I've sent you as an attachment has all three of them together at my home.
